Hi HP Community
I have a HP 15-AC109NA, it came with a 4GB memory module installed and I have just replaced that with 2 x 8GB modules.
The memory modules are second hand but the same brand and were from HP 15-AC120NA models, so as far as I'm aware they were originally supplied by HP in that model.
The laptop seems to be working normally but I decided to use the Windows Memory Diagnostic programme to check it.
The system reboots and the test takes around 40 minutes, when Windows restarts I can't find the memory test results anywhere, I have looked through the even log like suggested on the Microsoft site but I can't find it, I can find the Memory Diagnostic schedule in there, just not the results.
Does anyone know where the results could be?
I have owned the laptop since 2017 and had never been into the Event Viewer but when searching for the memory test results I noticed a few errors, "Distributed COM 10016" and "Kernel-Processor-Power 37" so I have a couple of questions about them,
Could upgrading the ram have caused these errors?
Last year I replaced the original hard drive with an SSD drive but as I purchased the laptop from Argos and it was factory refurbished it didn't come with any software discs, I downloaded Windows 10 from the MS site on another PC and burned the ISO to a DVD, I had never used the DVD drive until that point but I do remember thinking it seemed noisy.
Could the errors be caused by not using original HP software discs? or perhaps the noisy drive has messed up the Windows installation?
Thanks for reading

If the 8GB module was original it would have had 693374-005 as its HP parts number.
They are Micron branded modules. See the image and Micron manufacturer part number on the image at Amazon.com.
https://www.amazon.com/HP-PC3L-12800-DDR3L-1600-SODIMM-Notebooks/dp/B00ILBWRRO
Those modules are quite inexpensive and can be found on eBay and Amazon at @ 18.00 USD
If the memory diagnostic test did not fail, then life is good.
It would have been nice if you had posted which version of the Windows operating system you are using in the notebook.
The video shows how to find the memory errors, if any exist.
The error messages you asked about. Use Google and use reliable sources, perhaps Microsoft, or from a Microsoft MVP or knowledgeable forum member for OS error message explanations. There are times when cherry picking answers is a good thing.
These are quotes from Microsoft explanations. The error messages were not as a result of upgrading the memory modules.
"Event ID 37 is logged when the hardware platform determines that the OS can't use some frequency range that the processor supports. This Warning event notifies the user that the processor or CPU core can't support running at full speed."
"The distributedCOM error 10016 server 2016 is by design and occurs when Microsoft components attempt to issue a request through the Distributed Object Model without the required permission to do so. However, it is safe to ignore a distributedCOM error as they don't in any way disrupt the functionality of your system."

Hi Erico,
Thank you for the links,
I was told the Hynix modules were original, here is a Hynix module which has a 693374-005 part number label on it:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165959914413
Sorry, I'm using Windows 10, 64 bit, when starting my post I had to select my operating system from a drop down menu so I assumed it would be added to my post.
It seems Event ID 37 is something to do with power management, could this be caused by not using the original manufacturers software?
Could taking one of the 8GB modules out and leaving just 8GB in may solve the errors?
Thank you for your time

"Could taking one of the 8GB modules out and leaving just 8GB in may solve the errors?" That is possible.
The error is generally a hardware issue and that could be caused by the added stress of the additional power required by adding another module and not having quite enough power available for the processor state at the time .
Was the notebook running on battery power when the Event occurred?
You might try doing a DISM online health check to see if there are OS issues. If issues are found DISM can be used to effect OS image repairs.
