Hey
I've been tasked with setting up windows hello for our staff, i can get pin and finger scanner working just fine, but face recognition keeps giving me the error "This option is currently unavailable" and "We couldn't find a camera compatible with windows hello face"
This would make sense if not for the fact that we do have a IR camera in the laptop along the usual HD camera and according to this link: https://store.hp.com/us/en/tech-takes/hp-elitebook-review the elitebook 840 g5 camera should be compatible with face recognition.
What i've tried so far to solve the issue:
Both updating and totally removing/reinstalling both camera drivers (Tried to let windows install drivers and downloaded from hp driver website) and updated bios.
Setup all the required GPO's to make windows hello face work (As said the pin and fingerscanner login options work just fine)
Checked for windows updates etc (Running 1909 atm and have tested a lot on 1903 aswell)
Different machines (same model) all having the same error message about hello face.
If anyone have some good ideas to test out i'd appreciate it a lot.

There are many bodels/products of the series, your machine can have
Optional HD camera or Infra Red camera
Please check Devices manager to see which one you have on your machines mine is
That means my machine does not support Hello facial recognition. Only machines with IR Camera do.
I did not read the specs carefully before buying an HP 840 G5 4 months ago that why I missed out the SD/microSD card reader. I need it because I keep many HP manuals on SD/microSD card and I used to move from one machine to other machine every year. Now I have to use external card reader.
Regards.
