Hello,

I tried replacing the original Broadcom wireless card with Intel AC 7260. I downloaded the drivers from the Intel site and installed them. It seems that only bluetooth works, but not wi-fi. The F12 wireless button is white. "Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)" and "Intel Wireless Bluetooh" appeared in the Device Manager.
In the "Network Connections" this device is "not connected".
I read on this forum that, with some tricks, this card can work on my laptop, can you please suggest them to me? Thank you

You're very welcome.

Yes, a little dual band USB device like that will work fine.

That one should give you the same 867 MBPS throughput the Intel card would have.

You can use the Intel 7260's Bluetooth for Bluetooth.

Hi:

From what I have read, you need to mask Pin 20 and perhaps Pin 51 of the wifi card.

Watch this video for where these pins are located.

I masked Pin 20 and 51, and I downloaded the drivers from here https://www.intel.it/content/www/it/it/products/sku/75439/intel-dual-band-wirelessac-7260/downloads .html Unfortunately, only bluetooth works, but not wi-fi

Hi,

can you tell me if, in addition to the native Broadcom BVM94313HMGB card, I can find other compatible and more powerful wirelless cards?

Hi:

Sorry, that didn't work for you.

You did first uninstall the original Wi-Fi card and driver in the device manager before installing the 7260 AC, correct?

The only other equivalent card you can try would be this one:

Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo   HP part #724935-001.

The 7260 AC card should have worked in your notebook since it has an Intel processor.

I'm surprised that it didn't.

Hi,

thanks for the information. But I ask you: based on your experience, do you think the Broadcom BCM4352 wireless card will work for sure on my laptop, or do I need to apply any tricks (masking pin etc.)?

You're very welcome,

Unfortunately, that I do not know because other forum members have installed the Intel 7260 AC in their dv6-70xx notebooks and had no problem with it.

Unfortunately, most of the posts have been archived, so I can't find any to show you.

hi,

thank you, then I prefer not to risk ... Alternatively, consider this https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B07M69276N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
do you increase the connection speed of my laptop? Or would you recommend another similar device?
