Hello. Not long ago we purchased an HP 620 Laptop(Serial-[edited]), I installed the Windows 7 professional 64-bit operating system.
After about 2 weeks, the button that enabled the wireless connection remained orange. And so we searched for solution forums to solve this problem. And I got to update the bios and the internet adapter but I did not fix anything. I installed HP Wireless Assistant 4.0 but it was not compatible. I wanted to update the bios to the problem that it was not compatible with my laptop.
I went into the system but could not find my wireless network adapter ...
I took out the battery and held for 1 minute on the power button but nothing. Could I unpack my laptop? What to do, please help.

Hi, @Flavius_620
If your wifi adapter is not showing up at all in the device manager, nor is there a device labeled as a Network Controller under an Other Devices category (because the wifi driver is missing), see if installing the older HP Wireless Assistant software, gets the wifi card to show up.
Restart the PC after installing the software and use the software controls to turn on the wifi adapter.
3.50.12.1 Rev. A
This package contains the HP Wireless Assistant for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The HP Wireless Assistant is a user application that shows the status of individual wireless devices (such as Bluetooth, WLAN, or WWAN devices) and that provides the ability to control the radios for these wireless devices.

If the HPWA software doesn't get the wifi card to show up, then most likely you have a hardware issue with the wifi card.
Troubleshoot the issue by first removing and reseating the wifi adapter. Sometimes the contacts get oxidized.
Leave the antenna wires connected if you can, so you don't have to unnecessarily mess with the delicate antenna connectors.
If that fails to remedy the problem, then you can pretty much assume the wifi card has failed and needs to be replaced.
You can only replace the wifi adapter with one of the models listed in the service manual for your notebook, and the wifi card must have the HP part number on it, or it will not work.
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
The wifi adapter removal and replacement procedures can be found in chapter 4, starting on page 67.
