Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Noticed the KB backlighting was on after a very long time, rather than turning off after a bit of time.  Clicked the backlight key to toggle it off, and it would not come back on again.  Also, the KB became unstable - backspace key not working half the time, same for the space key, some other keys too.  Did a reboot and nothing changed after removing the KB from the device manager, then I did a hard reset, the KB flickered once then went off.  Restarted the computer, and it seems to be working again?

I wonder if this the result of some type of conflictive software update I was not aware of?  Is there a separate driver for the backlighting I'm not aware of?  Anyone else have this issue today/lately?  Laptop is about a month old, and I'm really hoping this is some kinda one-off glitch, never to return.  Thank you.
