Hi
I'm considering getting the HP Probook 450 G5. I just wanted to know if installing Ubuntu OS will void the warranty on it.
"I've noticed posts that say it doesn't. I just wanted to make sure that it's the same for this laptop model as well.'
Thanks

As long as the upgrade would not cause ANY problems for hardware then it should be fine.
Regards.

Hi,
Before you buy a computer for running linux on it make sure as much hardware is supported as possible. The latest hardware especially graphics card drivers are not available until the manufacturer or linux community develop the drivers. Check the Ubuntu forums first before any purchases.

You are welcome!!
I'd probably wait a while and get an AMD Ryzen based laptop. Intel can't make a decent cpu for laptops anymore.

Just wanted to say that I got the laptop and installed ubuntu 18.10 with no issues. The only exception is the finger-printer sensor as expected since the driver isn't available for mine.
Thank you for all the help.
