Hello I purchased a new laptop the other day, It's the HP 15-ef1082nr.  The HP detect and HP support assistant etc etc keep detecting/showing it as the HP 15s-eq1000 so no idea what's going on or how to fix this issue. I just want to make sure that I am able to get proper driver updates when need be etc. I have gone into the bios and it's detecting it as the 15-ef1xxx so in the bios it's detecting it properly so why is the HP detect and support assistant not.  So any help would be greatly appreciated.

I see you are experiencing HP support assistant issues with the HP Laptop.

 

I have a few recommendations 

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date. 
  • Uninstall HP support assistant from Add/Remove programs and then install the latest one from HP.COM using this link

Hello, I can't find my laptop on HP.com, I can find the product specs but when I either let HP detect my laptop or manually enter my serial and product number it just brings me to a completely different laptop so not sure where to go from here.

Hello I have entered the correct product and Serial number and it just continues to tell me that my laptop is the

HP 15s-eq1000 Laptop even though I have the 15-ef1082nr. So I am not sure why it thinks I have that model?
