HP 250 G8 Notebook PC (1T4K6AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I bought a new HP Pavilion Laptop 16t-af000 in Dec. 2024 which functions perfectly. I then installed HP Support Assistant which correctly identified the product number and serial number matching what's engraved on bottom of laptop. Then logging onto HP website to add new product with other products I own, I was not able to do so. I next registered my laptop providing product number and serial number. A day or so later I logged again onto HP website I found laptop incorrectly identified as HP250 G8 Notebook PC without product number and serial number which don't match my 16t. HP Support Assistant now lists both the 16t and HP250 G8. The BIOS correctly identifies my laptop as 16t.

This above problem seems to have been caused by HP incorrectly loading their product databases with the wrong detail to match my 16t to a HP250 as this problem came after I submitted a registration request. My concern now is that my warranty won't be valid with the wrong product. And it would seem HP will have to undo their error.

Looks like your machine can NOT be an HP 16t machine in the first place, It must be an HP 250-G8. HP 250-G8 is a series of many models/products.

What is list on the invoice ? What is HPSA list ?

Actually HP agreed that my laptop was a Pavilion16t and were working on correctly the issue. I have several other products I've added in the past, and never saw this issue before. I still think someone from HP 'fat fingered' someone else's laptop detail instead of mine. 😞 🙂

It's good to know that error because Pavilion 16t is a CTO machine and no way they can mix with an HP Probook 250 G8. But !  A very biiiiiig mixed up.
