I have updated the BIOS via the HP Support Assistant but the HP Support Assistant persists in announcing that I have to update my BIOS with the same update. How can I get rid of this erroneous update instruction in the HP Support Assistant?

@Sjors123, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If HP Support Assistant keeps prompting you to install the same BIOS update even after you've successfully installed it, this is usually due to a caching or detection issue within HPSA. Here's how you can resolve it:
Confirm BIOS Update Was Successfully Installed
- Press Ctrl + Alt + S to open HP System Information.
- Note the BIOS version listed.
- Compare it with the version shown in HPSA. If they match, the update was successful.
Clear HP Support Assistant Cache
Sometimes HPSA retains outdated update data. To clear it:
- Close HP Support Assistant.
- Open File Explorer and go to:C:\ProgramData\HP\HP Support Framework\Updates
- Delete the contents of the Updates folder.
- Restart your PC and launch HP Support Assistant again.
Update HP Support Assistant
Make sure you're using the latest version:
- Download the latest version from the official HP site:
HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
Re-scan for Updates
- Open HP Support Assistant.
- Click on My devices > Your PC > Updates.
- Click Check for updates and messages.
- If the BIOS update still appears, click the dropdown and choose Ignore this update.
Optional: Manually Install BIOS from HP Website
If you want to double-check or reinstall manually:
- Visit the HP Software & Driver page:
Official HP® Support - Enter your product name and download the latest BIOS version.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
