HP ZBook 15 G2

I must be very dim... I have a ZBook 15 G2 and wanted to create a home office by adding another screen and tidying up things with a G2 Docking station to it. The thunderbolt connection from the docking station, however, seems to be incompatible. The male element on the workstation seems to be thicker than the female port can accept. When compared to the same port on another laptop (DELL) it looks much thinner. What do I do? Is there an adaptor? It surely should be compatible? What have I got wrong?

All help gratefully received!

The HP ZBook 15 G2 Mobile Workstation (ENERGY STAR) does not have a Thunderbolt Gen 3 USB 3.1 Type-C port.

You need a compatible universal dock since your laptop is not compatible with a Thunderbolt docking station.
