Hi all,
I recently bought a refurbished Zbook G2 14 and it works just fine except for the battery. In the windows tray icon it shows: "0% Plugged in - not charging". The laptop must be powered trough the power supply otherwise it would not power up, the battery is as if it's not even there.
Weird thing is that the "AC Adapter/ Battery" LED button on the front of the laptop turns on when I plug in the power connector, it stays green for a couple of seconds then shuts down for few more seconds, comes back again orange and then shuts off for good.
I tried several troubleshooting as suggested on this forum (uninstall power drivers, detach the battery and hold the power button for a minute or so) but nothing worked.
I ran the HP diagnostic tool both in Windows and then in the BIOS and this error about the battery pops up:
FAILURE ID : 9TXFX1-7Q49LB-MFGJLK-C0BH03
Here below a screen shot:
The reseller assured me that the battery was working fine when he shippped the laptop and I honestly I don't doubt it.
Do I need to replace the battery? Can it be that during delivery the package took some hard hit and then the problem with the battery? (The laptop itself was wrapped in several layer of bubble wrapped but the carboard of the package was pretty beaten up).
Thanks in advance to anybody that can help.

The battery has failed.
Failure Code 601
Whether it was damaged in transit is not something for which we have an answer, of course.
In my experience, admittedly meaningless in context, batteries survive shipping- particularly if they are installed inside the computer.
Dead now.
