Product: ZBook 17 G2 Workstation
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've hp zbook 17 g2 with this specs :
Core i7-4940MX 3.10-GHz cache core 8 quad
RAM32G
NVIDIA Quadro K5100M 8 GB dedicated GDDR5

I want to replace the Quadro with gtx 1050ti m or gtx 980m
both of these cards are fit with the laptop
but quadro k5100m takes 100 watt
and gtx 1050ti m takes only 75 watt
and gtx 980m takes 130 watt

 

so i believe that the gtx 1050ti m will not be exhaustive to the motherboard  
so any one have experience with replacing the Quadro with any of the GTX mentioned cards?

  • I also have a ZB17G2 32gb ram and K3100m gpu. Im also wanting to upgrade my gpu to another gpu like u mentioned.  Did you have any luck with your gpu upgrade?  I would also like to upgrade my cpu to your cpu. Is that possible?
