Can anyone point me to a document (or at worst a Youtube Video) that explains how to replace the optical drive? I've tried every source imaginable and can seem to find what I need. Even the HP ZBook 17 G4
Maintenance and Service Guide skips any mention of the drive except for this gem... "Before removing an optical drive, be sure that a disc is not in the drive and be sure that the optical drive tray is
closed."!
I'd appreciate any info you may be able to provide.
Thanks.

Page 57 of the attached Service Manual...apparently this is just called a Zbook 17 Mobile Workstation. No G designation.
Please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

Thanks. I had purchased this as a pre-owned box. I was told at was a G4, but it doesn't say it anywhere, and until the drive problem, I didn't care. It replaced a HP 8710 Mobile Workstation which, for it's time, was great. This ZBook runs rings around the 8710. If I thought I was going to live long enough, I'd go buy a top of the line G6!

Huffer,
Thank you very much. This is exactly what I needed. There's a few other items I might like to add or upgrade, an SD card reader comes to mind, so I may be back for more hand-holding. Meanwhile, I'm in your debt, as I also and to the other fine people who cared enough to respond. Thank you all!
