ZBook Fury 16 G11
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

I purchased new  ZBook Fury 16 G11 Mobile when I browse internet and watch videos, hence CPU is at max. 5-10% (checked with Windows Task Manager), hence cooling fan is mainly off.

Unfortunately when the fan turns on it is short burst when the fan goes to high power and after 1 second it again turns off. In quiet environment, this sudden noise is very disturbing. I understand the fan must cool the laptop but why the fan is managed in such a way and it runs for 2 seconds in short burst every 5 minutes?

And this is true even if there are no activities..

Sometimes there are even 2 or 3 bursts shortly after each other in 5 seconds. Can it be fixed somehow?

Thank you for your help

Hey there! The same. I got my ZBook 16 in China, and HP China actually released a new BIOS on their website that fixes this issue. You might want to check if there's an updated BIOS version on your regional HP site too. And speaking of which, how do you feel about your laptop's GPU power limit? Mine's got an RTX 4060 that's capped at 45W, which is kind of ridiculous if you ask me. Seems way too conservative, right?
