Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I'm running a Zbook 15 G5 with Windows 11 22H2.

Is there any way to disable the trackpoint on the keyboard. Its doing some wierd stuff.

It's the AlpsAlpine driver. But i don't have a manager to setup some things.

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

Settings > Bluetooth and Settings > Mouse > PointStick Settings

Switch PointStick to OFF

Hi Dragon, thanks for the reply. I dont have the option Pointstick Settings.

I ran HP Image assistant and got al most recent drivers. But no Pointstick settings.

You are welcome.

True - we have different Zbook models.

True -- there is not a  22H2 pointstick driver update listed  for the G5 and Windows 11.

Out of curiosity, I checked the Windows 10 driver list (on the G5) --

Nothing of interest in Category Mouse and Input aside from an old ALPS mouse driver.

Rats.

@Paul_Tikkanen

Any words of wisdom?

I mis-stepped on this one.

TIA.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try the W11 22H2 Alps mouse driver from the Zbook 15 G6:

Looking at the driver date, it appears to be a 'rebadged' W10 driver since W11 wasn't even released in 2020.

But HP indicates that it is good for W11 22H2.

My bad - did not check the details.

Silly Dragon.

Hi, @Dragon-Fur

The driver that I posted from the G6 is a few months newer than the one on the G5's support page and HP doesn't list a W11-supported touchpad driver for the G5.

G5:

8.2206.1717.1018    Aug 14, 2019

G6:

8.2206.1717.1019    Jan 14, 2020

Thanks.

Might be worth trying.

I can't test that driver --  my G8 Fury 17 includes a separate driver for the PointStick.

Hi:

Sorry, that updated driver didn't make a difference.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other ideas for you to try.
