The device: HP ZBook Fury 16 G10 Mobile Workstation PC, Model 7b630av
The question: To safely do a RAM upgrade, I want to disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard and need some reassurance/advice.
Has anyone done this? Can anyone tell me the process to remove this battery to motherboard cable?
There is a pull tab on the cable, and I've given it three or four good tries at pulling straight up but I've used a lot of force and it isn't coming apart. I don't want to break the connector.
HP has a video on Youtube that shows the process, but it seems like the cable was already loosened when they filmed it being disconnected because it comes off without any tugging or fighting.
It's shown at 1:14 to 1:17, Video title: "Removing & Replacing Parts | HP ZBook Fury 16 G10 Mobile Workstation PC | HP Support"
Thanks for considering my question!

I have never had any trouble removing that type of battery connector.
You should be able to use either a plastic spudger or small wooden pry tool to gently rock the connector to remove it from the header on the system board.
Neither of those tools (also used for cell phones) should damage the board or the connector.
Just don't be too heavy handed.
