my laptop is running extremely slow. I have 8 mb memory 1 tb storage only 64 gb used. c

Standard for that model is 6 gigs of DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM which is a bit too little for Windows 10. I suggest at least 8 gigs, which is what you say you have.

See pages 52-57 for instructions. The max memory is 32 gigs (2 x 16) but I would not advise installing more than 16 gigs or a pair of eight gig modules. You are unlikely to get much improvement by going from 8 to 16 gigs. The biggest speed upgrade you can do is to install a solid state drive instead of the slow 5400 rpm hard drive.
