i'm going to add some memory to my laptop - is there any performance degradation in adding just ONE sodimm module, or it is always better to add a pair ot them (in the past it was so...)?

Hi:

As long as you get one with the same specs as the original memory module, you should be fine.

I mix mine all the time.  Never had an issue.

I have zipped up and attached a free utility below, that will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the memory module in your notebook.

That way you should easily be able to find one that has the same specs.
