You should be able to install up to a 2 TB M.2 SATA SSD with no problem.
The drive capacities listed in the service manual are just what HP offered in the model series.

Thanks a lot Paul. If you would tell about ram it would be helpful. I am confused cause
Kingston memory says the maximum is 16GB.

Crucial memory says 32GB of their modules is guaranteed compatible.

You're very welcome.
The service manual indicates 2 x 8 GB is the max, which is why Kingston is probably indicating the same thing.
Notebooks with Intel 7th gen core processors should be able to support 2 x 16 GB of memory.
I recommend that you run this command to see what Windows indicates:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
