Thank you so much!! I was ready to return my HP Pavilion - the bat file worked like a charm. What good is it to have a lit keyboard if it turns off in the dark and you cannot see the keys anymore. HP needs to fix this or give us the Advanced BIOS option.
Darn - not working.. FYI - I also created the bat file in the README file. didn't help.

If the option to not prolong the backlight was done "by design" as you say, it is a poor engineering effort indeed by HP. Just about every laptop on the market with a backlit keybord has the option to keep it on when needed (and it is indeed needed at times). Its a joke the HP hasn't fixed this yet, and if I hand know this was the case, I wouldn't have purchased a Spectre 360 15t. 1 year later, and the issue still hasn't been resolved. I purchase a new high-end laptop on an annual basis, and a Razer or Microsoft branded device now most likely will be my next Laptop after experiencing HP's "support" efforts.

I suggest everyone who as this issue to send an e-mail to the CEO of HP on this page:

My lap top had this issue and was fixed by there customer service over the phone, twice, but after seeing all of you having the same issue without any result, i decided to sent a complaint on behalf of all of us anyway
So if every one take the time to do this, maybe they will finally do something about it.

the 'fix' in the attached zip still works, it gets overwritten every now and then by an update from hp through windows update, just run it again and it will 'fix' it again. its not the correct solution, but i seriously doubt we will get one from hp...

I tried the to run the bat file and everything but for 2020 specter this method isn't working unless I am doing it wrong. I will be returning the HP Spectre and getting Dell XPS? Does anyone know if the Dell XPS has the same issue? If it does then ill have no choice but to the the Macbook Pro.
