Common problems for Battery

Again not sure if this is the right place. Just the closest to my question.

Reading the how to look after your laptop files.

"Periodically allow the notebook battery to drain completely
Allowing the battery to drain completely and then fully charging it again, helps the battery stay calibrated.
Do not keep a notebook plugged in with its batteries in place for extended periods. This could cause the battery to lose its calibration and ability to charge correctly."

Given that this one has a built-in battery. Unlike my old one that I could take the battery off when I was using it on the power cord.

How do we do it? I spend most of my time on power. Not needing the battery.

Do I leave it on, unplugged overnight? How often, once a month twice?

This new one is certainly a learning curve on what you have to look for when buying a new one.

There you go a new course for our universities.😁

Have a good one folks.

Cheers Bob.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know how often you should drain the battery.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

There is no such number or days when you need to drain the battery to maintain the battery. The battery stops charging when it is fully charged, and it starts charging only when the battery percentage drops a certain set limit, and this is to protect the battery from overcharging and to improve the battery life.

However, I recommend you if possible, drain at 50% of the battery every day and charge it again. If not, you can do this once a week.

I hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Hi The_Fossette,

                                 Thanks for replying.

I realise I should have looked before leaping when purchasing this laptop. Has to be the worst one yet.

The battery being internal just didn't register until I got it out of the box.

When searching for how to look after it all I got was removable ones. 😀

I'll mark this as closed satisfactory. After replying to you.

Thanks again.

Cheers Bob.
