Hi:

The driver I posted is for those hardware ID's.  That is all I can tell you.

Here is a partial copy and paste of the setup.inf file for the driver which shows support for the ID's you posted.

[Manufacturer]
%Ricoh%=Ricoh, ntamd64

[Ricoh]
%R5C843Desc%=R5C843_Inst,PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843

[Manufacturer]
%Ricoh%=Ricoh, ntamd64

[Ricoh]
%rimsptskDesc%=rimsptsk_Inst,PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592

I have the 6910p, running W10 Pro 64 bit, which is the 14.1" screen version of the model you have, and the above driver installed those base system devices just fine for me.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with the USB sound card.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest driver available.

Hi:

You need this driver for those devices...

This package contains the Ricoh Media Card Reader Driver for the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems. The Ricoh Media Card Reader driver provides support for the following media: Memory Stick, xD-Picture Card, MMC, SD, and SmartCard.

cheers for the quick reply paul ; )

i'm sure you must be right although i do see the card reader further down the list with drivers properly installed

hardware id codes;

PCMCIA\RICOH-Bay8Controller-F1B2
PCMCIA\RICOH-Bay8Controller-0000-0000
PCMCIA\RICOH-0000-0000

??

You're very welcome.

When you see the PCMCIA\RICOH-Bay8Controller device, that is also missing the driver which the above driver I posted will install as well.

paul i'm a little confused.

windows 10 lists this in settings....devices....connected devices....other devices;

Ricoh bay8 controller.

there are no problems mentioned.

also in device manager i see;

Smart Card Readers

RICOH Smart Card Reader

again no problems or yellow warnings.

when i click Ricoh smart card reader; it reports;

this device is working properly

the driver is 1.7.0.1

hi, there is something else about this.

i left my EMU 0404 usb sound card on when windows was updating.

this is also listed under other devices in device manager right underneath the base sytem devices and also has a yellow warning.

looking at events i see;

base system device;

install date;  5.22/2016 6.54.33AM device instal requested.............6.55.08 device configured (null)

EMU 0404;

5/22/2016 6;54.36AM device instal requested................6.55.08 device migrated...6.55.08 device configured (null)

thanks paul.  thats sorted out the issue. just wanted to make sure it wasnt something to do with the 0404 issue.

the warnings have gone from device manager.

still bamboozled by the events log stating that the attempted installation of my sound module is the exact same timestamp as the attempted installation of what i now know was the card reader.

event log for the card reader now states that additional services were installed with your driver. so thats great.

once again huge thanks for your help.
