Hi @Aaryan10,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for letting us know. If your HP notebook battery isn’t working properly, here are the recommended steps to diagnose and fix the issue:

Step 1: Check Battery Health

  • Open HP Support Assistant (pre-installed on most HP laptops).
  • Go to Battery Check under Diagnostics.
  • This will show battery condition (Normal, Replace Soon, or Replace Now).

Step 2: Perform a Hard Reset

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Disconnect the charger and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and charger, then power on.

Step 3: Update BIOS and Drivers

  • Go to Official HP® Support.
  • Enter your laptop model and download:
    • Latest BIOS update
    • Chipset and power management drivers

Step 4: Calibrate the Battery

  • Charge the battery to 100%.
  • Disconnect the charger and let the battery drain completely until the laptop shuts down.
  • Recharge to 100% without interruption.

Step 5: Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (F2)

  • Restart the laptop and press F2 repeatedly to enter HP Diagnostics.
  • Run the Battery Test.
  • If the test fails, note the Failure ID and share it here; we’ll interpret it for you.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
