Hi @BDR007,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how disappointing it can be when your HP 15-fd0000 laptop only gives you 2 to 2.5 hours of battery life. It’s not ideal, especially when you're trying to work or stay productive on the go. Let’s explore how to improve your battery backup with practical and effective steps.

Your laptop’s battery life depends on:

  • Display brightness and resolution
  • Background apps and processes
  • Power settings
  • Thermal and battery health
  • Windows and driver updates

Steps to Improve Battery Backup

1. Optimize Power Settings

  • Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery
  • Set Power Mode to Best Power Efficiency
  • Enable Battery Saver when below 40–50%

2. Reduce Display Brightness

  • Lower brightness manually or enable adaptive brightness
  • Avoid using HDR unless needed

3. Close Background Apps

  • Use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to close unused apps
  • Disable startup apps under Task Manager > Startup

4. Update BIOS and Drivers

5. Disable Unused Features

  • Turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when not needed
  • Disable keyboard backlight if your model has it

6. Use HP Battery Health Manager

  • Access BIOS (press Esc or F10 during boot)
  • Look for Battery Health Manager and set it to Maximize Battery Health

7. Run HP Battery Check

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
