HP Pavilion 14-dw0000 x360 Convertible Laptop PC (8SS17AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My computer is 10 month old, still in warranty. But the battery is around 1 year and 6 or 7 month old.

It has done 222 cycles based on the HP battery check and currently full charge capacity is only 82%.

Is this normal?

Thanks!

hello

The maximum capacity of a battery changes over time. To know the condition of your battery, test and calibrate your battery if necessary.

Because of this change in battery capacity, the charge level indicator in Windows might not show 100% charged. To know the condition of your battery, test your battery and calibrate it if necessary

Hi, I think you miss understood. I am not saying anything about charging.

I ran a battery check recently, it suggest that full charge capacity is only 81%. I don't know it is normally or not as the computer is light use and full charge capacity dropped so much for a 10 month computer.

Dear @Tom12345678

Yes it is possible that in 10 months the charge capacity will drop, there are many factors not only the charge cycles but also the temperature that the battery may be working, it also depends if you charge the battery with the laptop off or on.

I recommend you do this test for a few days, discharge the battery to 50%, turn off the laptop and put it on charge, and see after 2 or 3 days if the total charge capacity increases.
