Hi @Rockysamar7,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  1. Did this battery drain issue start immediately after adding the SSD and NVMe drive, or did it appear gradually?
  2. Are you running Windows updates and all HP drivers, including the chipset and storage drivers, after the upgrade?
  3. Have you checked whether Fast Startup is enabled? On some Windows 11 laptops, Fast Startup can cause battery drain when the system is “shut down.”
  4. Are you using any power-hungry apps or background processes that might be running even when the laptop is locked?

Here are some troubleshooting steps you could try:

  • Disable Fast Startup:
    1. Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
    2. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
    3. Uncheck Turn on fast startup and save changes. This can reduce battery drain when the laptop is “off.”
  • Check Power Settings & Sleep Options: Make sure the laptop is set to hibernate or sleep properly when not in use, and that USB devices or drives aren’t set to stay powered.
  • Update Drivers: Make sure your SSD and NVMe drivers, as well as Intel/AMD chipset drivers, are up to date. Sometimes storage upgrades trigger higher power draw if drivers aren’t optimized.
  • Battery Health Check: Run HP’s Battery Check via HP Support Assistant to ensure the battery itself isn’t being misreported.
  • BIOS Update: Check if there’s a BIOS update available for your model—HP sometimes releases firmware updates to improve battery compatibility with new storage devices.
  • Background Processes: Open Task Manager and see if any storage-related background processes (like indexing or antivirus scans) are running constantly after the upgrade.

I hope this helps.
