battery draining too quickly ! the backup is around 1 and half per full charge ,its draining 1% per 1 minute

If your Victus By HP 15.6 Inch Gaming Laptop is experiencing rapid battery drain, there are several potential causes and troubleshooting steps you can take to address the issue.

 

Check Battery Health

  • Windows Battery Report: Generate a battery report to check the battery health.
    1. Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
    2. Type powercfg /batteryreport /output "C:\battery_report.html" and press Enter.
    3. Open the generated report from the specified location.

Power Settings

  • Adjust Power Plan:
    1. Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep.
    2. Click on Additional power settings.
    3. Choose a power plan that optimizes battery life, such as Power saver.
    4. Customize advanced power settings to reduce power consumption.

Background Processes

  • Manage Startup Programs: Disable unnecessary startup programs.
    1. Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
    2. Go to the Startup tab.
    3. Disable unnecessary programs.
  • Check Background Apps:
    1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Background apps.
    2. Turn off background apps that you do not need.

Display Settings

  • Adjust Brightness: Lower the screen brightness.
  • Turn Off Unused Features: Disable features like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi if not in use.

Battery Saver Mode

Recalibrate the Battery

  • Battery Calibration:
    1. Fully charge the laptop to 100%.
    2. Use the laptop until it completely discharges and shuts down.
    3. Fully charge the laptop again without interruptions.
