Hi @George516,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Do you notice the battery draining faster when running specific apps (like games or video streaming), or even during light tasks like browsing?
  • Have you ever replaced the battery before, or is it the original one?

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Run HP Battery Check:
    • Open HP Support Assistant and run the Battery Check tool to see the health status of your battery.
  2. Adjust Power Settings:
    • Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery.
    • Set your laptop to Battery Saver or Recommended mode instead of Performance.
  3. Update BIOS and Drivers:
    • Use HP Support Assistant to check for BIOS and driver updates. Sometimes updates improve power management.
  4. Reduce Background Apps:
    • Close unnecessary apps and disable startup programs that may be consuming power.
  5. Screen Brightness & Keyboard Backlight:
    • Lower screen brightness and turn off the keyboard backlight when not needed. These can significantly extend battery life.
  6. Check Battery Health:
  • If diagnostics show the battery is weak or degraded, it may need replacement.

I hope this helps.
