Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My 2 yr Pavilion laptop battery is only good for about an hour or so.  Why is it going in such short time?

Can I replace it without losing my data?

You always have to switch machine off therefore replacing battery WON'T  losing data
