HP Pavillon laptop pc 15-eg2009
Microsoft Windows 11

in my lapyop, the percentage of battery level is not shown the exact battery level in the battery icon on taskbar. Always showed 100% even after used several hours. Afterthat the system was turned off automatically due to low battery but battery level showed 100%. Everytime using the laptop, the percentage of battery level shows the same level. So its difficult to charge my laptop. Please help with this.

Hi @vvmn,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the battery percentage is not displaying correctly on the battery icon in the taskbar of your HP Pavilion laptop, there are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue.

Restart your laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve minor software glitches and restore the battery percentage display. Restart your laptop and check if the battery level is now showing accurately.

Update your drivers: Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause issues with battery reporting. Visit the official HP support website and download the latest drivers for your laptop model. Install them and see if the battery percentage is now displaying correctly.

Calibrate the battery: Battery calibration can help recalibrate the battery reporting, which might resolve inaccurate battery level readings. Here's how to do it:

a. Plug in your laptop and let it charge to 100%.

b. Keep your laptop plugged in for at least two hours after reaching 100%.

c. Unplug the laptop and use it normally, allowing the battery to drain completely until it shuts down.

d. Once your laptop has turned off, plug it back in and let it charge to 100% without interruption.

e. Check if the battery percentage is now showing accurately.

Check power settings: Sometimes, power settings can affect the battery reporting. Here's how to check them:

a. Right-click on the battery icon in the taskbar and select "Power Options."

b. In the Power Options window, click on "Change plan settings" next to your selected power plan.

c. Click on "Change advanced power settings."

d. Look for the "Battery" category and expand it.

e. Check if the "Battery level" option is set to "On" or "Off." If it is set to "Off," change it to "On."

f. Apply the changes and check if the battery percentage is now displaying correctly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
