As I Understand the laptop is plugged into the adapter/charger but it doesn't charge or power on anymore,

Don't worry, though, as I have a few steps listed below that should help you resolve this concern:

Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.

Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,

Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

Also, Go through them all and let me know what you have determined is causing the issue. The first document has the most relevant troubleshooting if your battery appears to be not charging.

I can't do that. Because the battery is at 0% charge.so whenever I unplug the charger the laptop turns off. So i took it to a service center nearby he told me that we have to change the battery, its drained.so i exchanged the battery. Its fine now.
I have another minor problen though.
The screen has a white vertical line in the middle. Is there anyway to make it go away. I just dont want to exchange the whole display.

And thanks for ur reply.

As I  understand there is a vertical line in the middle of the screen on your HP laptop. I'll be really glad to help you with this,

The first steps that you should attempt is to make sure that the vertical white lines do not appear in the BIOS. To do this I have included the steps below.

1. Turn off your computer
2. Make sure you have connected the power cable
3. Turn on your notebook, as it is starting press the  F10 button repeatedly

Once you are in the BIOS, if the lines are still present, it is likely a hardware failure.

The next two steps may resolve the issue:

The first one is to do a Hard Reset on the notebook.

The next step would be to perform a Bios update.

Let me know how it goes for further assistance,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
