Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have my HP Pavilion for less than 2 years

Now It stopped charrging.

it is not the the plugged in not charging problem.

When I plug in the AC it charges for 10sec then stops.

No problems with the battery test. The unistall AC drivers trick doesn't work either.

Please reinstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery

Step 01. Click on the Start Button
Step 02. Type "Device Manager" in the start search box & open the Device Manager
Step 03. Look for Batteries and expand it by click on the + symbol on the left
Step 04. Right Click on "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" & uninstall
Note: This Battery driver will get re-installed automatically when you restart the Notebook again
Step 05. Please Shutdown the Notebook
Step 06. Please remove the Battery and unplug the Power Adapter
Step 07. Press and Hold the Power Button for full 1 Minute
Step 08. Go ahead and put back the Battery and connect the Power Adapter and restart

Next update the BIOS from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

If the issue persists run a Battery Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Power > Battery

Let me know how it goes 😊

reinstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery - done

update the BIOS from this Link - done

i have problems with "run a Battery Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality"

when I run the menu and press F2

threre 4 options:

-memory check

-hard drive check

-language

-exit

And from the main menu only F2 option is working, the other options are there but when i choose one of them the PC continues with starting Windows

The laptop charges only when it is turned off

When I turn it on the charging stops and it works on battery

@dund1o

Are you using the original AC Adapter that came with the Notebook

If possible I suggest you check with a different AC Adapter because sometimes a failing AC Adapter might not provide enough power to charge the Battery while it's ON

Keep me posted

Yes, I use the original ac adapter that came with the laptop.

Also already tried with another original ac adapter that works on another laptop and it didn't work

If the issue persists with another AC Adapter I would request you to contact HP Support for Service Options
