Hi @Shell710, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy x360 battery is not charging, try the following troubleshooting steps:
Basic Checks
Check the Power Adapter & Cable
- Ensure the adapter is properly plugged in and not damaged.
- Try a different power outlet.
- If available, test with another HP charger of the same rating.
Inspect Charging Port & Connection
- Remove dust/debris from the charging port.
- Ensure the connector is firmly plugged in.
Check for Battery Indicator Lights
- If the light blinks white or amber, there may be a charging issue.
- If there’s no light, the adapter or port may be faulty.
Software & BIOS Troubleshooting
Reset Battery & Power Settings
- Shutdown your laptop.
- Unplug the charger.
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the charger and turn it on.
Run HP Battery Check (HP Support Assistant)
- Open HP Support Assistant (Start > Search for HP Support Assistant).
- Go to Battery Check and run a test.
Check Battery Status in Windows
- Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
- Expand Batteries.
- Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and select Uninstall.
- Restart your laptop (Windows will reinstall the driver automatically).
Update BIOS & Drivers
- Go to HP Support Website and download the latest BIOS and chipset drivers for your model.
Hardware Troubleshooting
Test with Another Charger (if available)
- Use a compatible HP charger to rule out a faulty adapter.
Check Battery Health
- If your laptop is older, the battery may have degraded and need replacement.
If the battery only charges when the laptop is off, it may be a power management issue.
If nothing works, try charging in BIOS (Restart → Press F10 to enter BIOS → Leave plugged in for 30 mins).
If the issue persists, the battery or charging circuit may be faulty.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
