Hello,
My elitebook 8560w is 12 years old and overheated a day ago.
I was playing a game I usually play and it always gets hot but I have extra fans so my computer can bear games. Still though. It randomly shut down right away. No blue screen it just immediately powered off. I right away just click on its power button and i can see the power button light up white and start its fans as usual but then realized there was a faint burnt smell. I immediately turn it around and pull out it's battery out so it doesn't overheat more. I leave it alone for a while so it can cool down. Since then, it won't light up at all
I tried charging it with the battery and it won't light up. I also tried without the battery inside but still connected to the charging cable and it won't light up either. The only way it reacts at all is when it's charging (in both cases) with a red blinking light
I also tried holding the power button for 15 seconds without the battery in the inside and without it plugged in. Opened up it's case and brushed all the dust off the built in fan. Also brushed off the dust in the connection from the computer to it's battery. Left it charging overnight with it's battery. Also different keybind stuff but nothing I tried worked
I bought a new battery which will come in a week but since it doesn't start up at all (with or without a battery in the inside) then I worry that a new battery probably won't wake it up from it's coma
Is there a way I can wake it up? I believe it was going to work fine before I pulled out it's battery. I think only the battery overheated so why isn't it starting up at all?
Please help. Thank you 🐌
