Hi everyone in the community,
In my old CQ60-2020el with OS Vista, after upgrading CPU and Ram and SSD, I installed the OS win 10 Home.
With the 1909 update version, even if the battery is not inserted, the battery icon shows me 255% of charge.
With the update version 1803 with the battery not inserted, the icon indicates that the battery is not there and it is correct.

I have tried with the HP diagnosis, update the battery driver, change the energy saving settings, correct errors with sfc / scannow, put a new battery, reinstall the 1909 update.
But the problem is precisely the 1909 update.

Do you have any useful advice to give me?

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

Please reinstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery and check if that helps

Step 01. Click on the Start Button
Step 02. Type "Device Manager" in the start search box & open the Device Manager
Step 03. Look for Batteries and expand it by click on the + symbol on the left
Step 04. Right Click on "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" & uninstall
Note: This Battery driver will get re-installed automatically when you restart the Notebook again
Step 05. Please Shutdown the Notebook
Step 06. Remove the Battery and unplug the Power Adapter ( For Notebooks with Removable Batteries )
Step 07. Press and Hold the Power Button for full 1 Minute
Step 08. Go ahead and put back the Battery and connect the Power Adapter and restart

Next update the BIOS from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

If the issue persists run a Battery Test again to confirm the Hardware Functionality

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Power > Battery

Let me know how it goes 😊

Thank you for posting back.

To get the answer to this question, it may be caused by some corruption error. In this case, running System File Checker may help you resolve this issue.
System File Checker can scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. If the feature update to Windows 10 version 1803 failed to install,

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you for posting back.

The last thing I can suggest restore the computer back to the factory settings.
While doing the recovery there is an option to backup your personal files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time.

Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows )You can also contact HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your system to help alleviate difficulties: www.hp.com/contacthp/

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
