Hi @daimad,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy x360 is shutting down immediately when unplugged, it could indicate a battery issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

Check Battery Health:

  • Open the HP Support Assistant on your laptop and navigate to the "Battery" section to check the battery's health status.

Update Drivers and BIOS:

  • Ensure your battery drivers and BIOS are up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Support Assistant or the HP website.

Reset Battery Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager (right-click the Start menu and select it).
  • Expand the "Batteries" section.
  • Right-click on "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" and select "Uninstall device."
  • Restart your laptop; Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off your laptop, disconnect the power adapter, and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reinsert the battery, reconnect the power adapter, and turn on the laptop.

Check Power Settings:

  • Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Power & sleep."
  • Ensure your settings are configured properly and that your laptop isn't set to enter sleep mode or shut down immediately when unplugged.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, it might be a sign that the battery needs to be replaced.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
