i got this brand new laptop 5 days ago and after fully charging it, it runs out of complete charge in mere 2 hours of using when i am not using any high intensity software and am just using the web browser and microsoft office and all power saving measures have been taken, my brightness always remains at lower than 40, i use my laptop in dark mode, do not keep it on charging overnight. i have taken all measures yet my charge runs out in just 2 hours of performing the most basic functions. how do i solve this issue

Hi @da057
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing battery issues with your new HP laptop. Here are some steps you can try to address battery life concerns:
Battery Calibration: Sometimes, calibrating your battery can help improve accuracy in charge reporting. You can do this by fully charging the laptop, then using it on battery until it completely drains and shuts down. Then charge it again to full without interruption.
Check for Background Programs: Ensure no unnecessary programs are running in the background that could be consuming more power. Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to check the programs using the most CPU and memory.
Update Drivers: Make sure all your drivers are up to date, especially those related to power management and the battery. You can use the HP Support Assistant to check for updates.
Power Settings: Double-check the power settings in Windows 11. You might want to use the "Battery Saver" mode in addition to manually adjusting brightness and ensuring unnecessary wireless capability (such as Bluetooth) is turned off when not in use.
Disable Visual Effects: Windows has various visual effects which can use additional power. Consider disabling them to improve battery performance. You can do this by searching for "Performance Options" in Windows, and then selecting "Adjust for best performance".
HP Battery Health Manager: If your laptop includes software like HP Battery Health Manager, ensure it's configured correctly. It typically optimizes battery health for your usage pattern.
