OMEN 17
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought a new laptop OMEN 17.I7.12MG. With an 8-cell battery (according to your data 9 hours of work) The problem is that the battery holds two and a half hours of normal operation without effort. I want to know what happened? And how can we arrange it?

Thanks

Try to update the bios from support site.

Click here and type in your notebook model to download the BIOS.

Run test on BIOS to check for any hardware issues.

1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.

3. On the main menu, click Component Tests.

4. The Component Tests menu displays.

5. Select Power option in the menu to run test on battery.

I hope that helps.

Welcome to HP support community.

Uninstall the battery driver

  1. Press Windows Key + X to open Win + X menu. ...
  2. Now click Batteries in the Device Manager window.
  3. Next, you should right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and select Uninstall from the context menu.
  4. Click Uninstall to confirm.

Update the BIOS and battery driver using HP support community.

Refer this HP document for the steps to use HPSA:- Click here

Then calibrate the battery

Thank you very much for your reply.

As you mentioned in your message the solution should be to up-date the BIOS, but as you see below I have a problem: when I try to up-date. it fails no matter how many times I try.

Please let me know if there is something else I should do.

Thank you!
