@iyonk,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Thank you for your question! If your HP laptop is stuck at 0% and not charging, here are a few things to try before concluding the battery needs replacement:

1. Basic Checks:

  • Ensure you're using the original HP charger.

  • Try plugging into a different wall socket.

  • Check for any loose or damaged power adapter cables or charging ports.

2. Reset the Embedded Controller (EC):

Perform a hard reset to clear temporary charging glitches:

  • Turn off the laptop.

  • Unplug the charger.

  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.

  • Plug the charger back in and try booting up.

3. Update the BIOS and Battery Drivers:

Outdated firmware can sometimes cause charging problems:

  • Go to HP Support and enter your laptop's model number.

  • Download the latest BIOS and HP System Diagnostics or Battery Check tools.

  • Open Device Manager > Batteries > right-click and uninstall:

    • Microsoft AC Adapter

    • Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery

  • Restart your PC — Windows will reinstall them automatically.

4. Run HP Battery Check:

5. Battery Might Be Dead or Faulty:

If the Battery Check reports the battery as weak or failed, or it remains at 0% despite all the above, the battery is likely:

  • Degraded (common in older laptops or hot climates like Indonesia).

  • Completely failed and needs to be replaced.

Recommendation:

If the laptop is under warranty, contact HP Support in Indonesia. Otherwise, you can purchase a compatible replacement battery from a reputable seller.

Let me know your exact model number (e.g., HP 15s-fqxxxx) if you'd like help finding the correct battery.

Kind Regards,
