black screen after updating

I updated my laptop because it said it was mandatory and after that the screen turned black and never turned back to light. My computer is still on but the screen stays black. Please help me I start online school soon and nothing is working. I hear the fans going off inside but it won’t turn the screen on.

@Valeriaguerr9 Here's what you need to do, to identify the issue and resolve it accordingly:

• check if it works fine on an alternate/external monitor.
  • If it works fine on an alternate screen, please Perform a hard reset, Attempt a BIOS recovery  and then, Run the System Diagnostics tests.
