Welcome to HP support community.

Try checking the keyboard language if set correctly.
- Go back to Control Panel then look for Region and Language and make sure all tabs at set to the United States.
- Click Apply when a change is made then try your keyboard again.

Run diagnostics to run the test

  1. Click on Download button and install the latest HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
    DOWNLOAD
  2. After Installation, select Start from your PC, and then under All Apps, select HP Help and Support. Right-click HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows, select More, and then select Run as administrator.
  3. The app opens to the main menu. Click keyboard, mouse, touchpad, and clickpad issues.
  4. From the component test menu, select Processor test and start the test.
HP also recommends running an Extensive test, listed under System Test to determine any hardware failures.
  5. If the hardware test Passed, it indicates there is no Hardware Failure. In case, the test Failed, it will display an error code.
    • You can use the HP Failure ID decoder to find out more information about the error code and find further assistance or repair options based on your warranty.

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
