Go back to the shop, and complain if there is no external damage to the machine.
If the break come not for fall or hit damage, maybe you can ask to repair. otherwise, unfortunately, you may have to pay for the repair of the error.
To avoid same issues, please when you open and close your notebook, dont hold the left / right side of the display.
Grip between the two hinge at the camera for open or close.

Thank you for your reply. I am trying to find out how to send this to HP for repair. I expect to pay for the repair as my computer is out of warranty. I can't seem to find out where to send it for repair or even find a phone number to contact HP and ask. I will never buy another HP computer. Their customer service sucks. I guess that is one of the reasons for the class action lawsuit. Sorry for the rant. I have a new ASUS laptop that I really like so far. I just want to repair my older HP for a spare. If that is not possible I will just throw it in the trash and buy another ASUS computer for a backup.
