Hi @Pocholotis,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand that the built-in camera is missing from Device Manager, and you have already tried installing drivers and following several troubleshooting guides.
Since Windows is not detecting the camera at all, let's first check whether it is being detected as another device.
Open Device Manager.
Select View > Show hidden devices.
Check under Cameras, Imaging Devices, and Other Devices.
Then select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
If an unknown device or a device with a yellow exclamation mark appears, please let us know its name.
Also check the camera privacy shutter/switch or camera key on the laptop, if your model has one, and make sure the camera is not physically disabled. HP specifically recommends checking this when the webcam is missing from Device Manager.
If the camera still does not appear after the hardware scan, please do not install additional generic camera drivers yet. HP's guidance indicates that when a previously working webcam is still not detected after a hardware scan, the next checks include the HP webcam connection test and, depending on the result, possible hardware service.
Could you also provide:
The exact HP model/product number.
Your Windows version (Win + R > winver).
Whether the camera worked previously and, if so, when it stopped working.
Whether the Camera app shows an error such as 0xA00F4244 / NoCamerasAreAttached.
With those details, we can determine the appropriate next step without repeating the generic driver troubleshooting you've already tried.
Best regards,
