HP 14 inch Laptop PC 14-em0000 (72X29AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My camera is not working and the driver is missing. It is also not listed under hidden devices in Device Manager. All updates are installed and the camera settings are configured, but I cannot find the camera driver on the HP website. I urgently need a solution

Hi @Giza2026-User

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for providing the details. I understand that the camera is not detected on your HP 14-inch Laptop PC 14-em0000 (72X29AV), the camera driver is missing from Device Manager (including Hidden Devices), Windows updates are current, and the Camera app is displaying error code 0xA00F4244 .

Since the camera is not appearing anywhere in Device Manager, this typically indicates that Windows is not detecting the camera hardware. Let's focus on recommended troubleshooting steps:

Check the BIOS for Camera Detection

  • Shut down the notebook.
  • Turn it on and immediately tap F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS Setup.
  • Look under System Configuration, Built-In Device Options, or similar menus.
  • Verify that the Integrated Camera or Webcam is enabled.
  • Save changes and restart Windows.

Restore BIOS Defaults

  • Enter BIOS using F10 during startup.
  • Press F9 to load default settings.
  • Select Yes.
  • Press F10 to save and exit.
  • After Windows loads, check Device Manager again.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Turn off the notebook.
  • Turn it on and repeatedly tap F2.
  • Open Component Tests.
  • Look for a Webcam Test or Camera-related test.
  • Run the available test and note any result or failure ID.

Force Hardware Detection

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Click Action > Scan for hardware changes.
  • Expand:
    • Cameras
    • Imaging Devices
    • Universal Serial Bus Controllers
  • Check if the camera appears after the scan.

Update the BIOS

  • Download and install the latest BIOS available for the HP 14-em0000 series from HP Support: Link

Perform a Power Reset

  • Shut down the notebook.
  • Disconnect the AC adapter.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the adapter.
  • Start the notebook and check Device Manager.

Check Windows Optional Updates

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Optional Updates.
  • Install any available driver updates.
  • Restart the notebook.

Based on the screenshot and the fact that no camera device appears even under Hidden Devices, the most important checks are:

  • BIOS camera enablement.
  • HP Hardware Diagnostics webcam test.
  • BIOS update.
  • Hardware detection scan.

Please let us know:

  • Whether the camera is listed in the BIOS.
  • Whether a Webcam test appears in HP Hardware Diagnostics and its result.

Those results will help determine the next specific troubleshooting path.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
