I would like to replace my hard drive with a SSD on my HP mini 110 laptop.  Can this be done and are there any recommended SSD's?

I have W7 Home on a USB stick and just have to have the computer boot off that.

Thanks for your help, it is greatly appreciated.

Need exact model. Some Mini 110s have an older type of small SSD and others use a 2.5 inch SATA hard drive which could theoretically be replaced with an SSD, but I am not sure why you would since the SSD will be more valuable than the computer.

It is a HP MINI 110-1100 CTO PC.   SN [Personal Information Removed]  Production Number VF704AV.  I love this little computer and I only use it to read newspapers and some web sites while I sit in my easy chair and drink my morning coffee.  I'd like it to be a little faster since I'm 76 years old and don't want to wait.  I still buy green bananas though.

If I can't upgrade, I may have to buy another small laptop, don't care much for tablets.

It is actually not that hard to physically replace the hard drive with an SSD. See page 55 of the Manual here:

The ribbon cable connecting the keyboard is a little tricky and fragile so be careful.

You can install any 2.5 inch 7 or 9.5 mm SSD. I would shop for a deal. Like this:

Since it does not have a DVD drive built in, the hard part is installing Windows on a new clean drive. Do you have a usb DVD drive? Does it have XP or Windows 7 and if 7 which kind (starter, Home Premium?)

Hartwood, same story for me. Except my Mini 110 is pink! Did you get a SSD installed? I would love to keep the thing running as fast as possible; currently running Windows 10 32 bit Anniversary Update. That being said, it is still quite useable as is, for our purposes.
