HP Envy Notebook P1D99EA#UUG
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The motherboard accepte B+M key.

Original ssd is L8H-256V2G-HP.

Samsung 970 EVO PLUS has M-key

I suppose when B+M is available on motherboard that ssd with M-key will be accepted or am I wrong?

When I put Samsung in the slot the startup led flashes short and laptop won't startup.

The nominal current of the Samsung 970 is 2.7A, the original is 0.9A.

Is it possible that the power of the slot cannot supply the ssd?

I placed and did not work. When I looked to the form of the original SSD it is an B+M key sata. I thought that when you have an M+B that it is normal that B is accepted but it is not so. Correct if I'm wrong. 970 is an M-key and not sata but NVMeM2 and not compatible. I bought a Sata 1GB  B+M key Western Digital and everything's ok. This SSD has an (old) 2 lane and the new Samsung has a 4 lane not supported  on my 5 years old envy :).

Thanks for the reply!
