Hi,

It is not possible to upgrade the RAM in your notebook as it is onboard which means it is integrated on the motherboard (soldered) and there are no slots for possible upgrade.

page 1 of service manual:

Hope it helps,

David

I have

Intel core i7 - 5500U  CPU 2.40 GHz

Device ID  -  EB9F2490-1ABF-411F-9FD2-1ED5B4EA8064

Product ID  -  00326-10000-00000-AA326

I upgraded my hard drive from 128 to 512 gig.

I would like to know if I can change the 8gig ram chip to a higher chip, 16 or 32?

HP Recommended

would it be possible to unsolder the ram chip and replace it with a 16 or 32 gig chip?

Hi @cbenge

If you have the same model. It is not possible to replace the RAM chip, as it is not only a chip, there are many controllers and the whole subsytem along with it.

Regards,

David
