What is your HP Laptop 14-dq0xxx  ?  The series only supports single storage options, you can't add more. But to be sure, I need to know EXACTLY what is your machine ?  Please use the following way to find out the model/product of your machine

For security reason, please do NOT post its Serial number (s/n) on Internet.

Regards.

Your machine actually is an HP Laptop 14-dq0002dx, its specs

which shows it only has 64 GB eMMC. It does not support dual storage therefore you can NOT add anything.

Your machine should have a Card reader. You can use 512GB card and use it to keep your data/files.
