i recently bought a hp 15s-dr3xxx notebook and i wanted to upgrade the ram myself( not from hp service center). will the warranty get affected if i do so... it will also be great if someone could tell me if my laptop has a hdd slot or not.

Hi,
Upgrading RAM and Drives is an accepted practice and will not void warranty as long as you do not break anything during the upgrade.
If you have an Intel Core CPU in the machine it will support max 64GB of DDR4 2666MHz RAM (2x32GB)

On page 39 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM
