hi , I have hp 255 G8 , Ryzen 5 5500u with 8 Gb ram , I was wondering if i can make use of the empty ram slot in my laptop to support duel channel to get the best performance of the integrated graphics card of my processor.
is the ram upgradable ? what ram should I buy ?

Hi:
According to the Crucial memory report, the notebook can support up to 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory.
HP - Compaq HP 255 G8 | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial IN
That is the memory I would recommend.
If you want the notebook to run memory in dual channel mode, you need to install another 8 GB memory chip in the second slot, so you would want this one:
Crucial 8GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT8G4SFRA32A | Crucial IN
If you were to install a 16 GB memory chip, you would have 24 GB of memory running in single channel mode because in order for the memory to run in dual channel mode the memory has to be installed in matching capacities in both slots.
The 255 G8 service manual is not working for some reason, so here is the manual for the 255 G9.
